Again, ambulances could not provide timely service Apr 21, 2017, LUDHIANA: Once again, 108 emergency ambulance service failed to provide timely medical aid to the accident victims. On Thursday morning, a Punjab Roadways bus hit a pickup van on Ludhiana-Malerkotla Road, killing a woman and injuring 11 others. There were only four ambulances that reached the spot, one after the other. An eyewitness, Sarabjit Singh, of Alamgir said, "All women were injured, some were unconscious and some semi-conscious. It was a horrifying accident and they needed immediate medical aid. First, only one ambulance came and took only two patients. Then another came after half-an-hour, followed by two more. Some injured were taken to the hospital in the car of a commuter."
